Introduction

Proportional solenoid valves are designed for liquid/gas flow control. Their output flow is proportional to the input current signal, allowing the flow of liquid or gas to be smoothly adjusted by regulating the current. Consequently, proportional solenoid valves are widely used in various open-loop or closed-loop control systems for liquid/gas pressure and flow.
Structurally and operationally, they differ from on-off solenoid valves. Unlike conventional solenoid valves that simply activate upon power-on, proportional solenoid valves require analog or digital electrical signals to achieve precise and controllable output.

Features

  • NPT Threading: NPT (National Pipe Taper) to accommodate diverse global specifications, ensuring a secure seal with teflon tape. For valves with G (BSPP) thread, please contact customer service.
  • Electrical Connection: Equipped with a 6.3×0.8mm blade-type electrical interface and a dedicated junction box for flexible wiring and installation.
  • Fast Response: Rapid and sensitive action feedback within 20–40ms.
  • Precise Control: Superior regulation accuracy: max hysteresis ≤15%, flow repeatability ≤1%, control sensitivity ≤0.1%.
  • Applicable Media: Primarily for neutral gas/liquid media; Viton seal allows compatibility with mildly corrosive environments.
  • Valve Body Material: 316 Stainless Steel (high corrosion resistance, food-grade safe, temperature-stable). Suitable for drinking water applications and harsh industrial fluid control scenarios.

FAQ

Problem 1: What to note before buying?

Check the product parameters on this page (e.g., refer to the pressure-flow chart and current-flow chart) to ensure they fit your needs prior to purchase. For any questions or additional requests, please consult our customer service team.

Problem 2: What is the difference between a proportional solenoid valve and a conventional solenoid valve?

A proportional valve is controlled by the driving current of its proportional electromagnet. The current determines electromagnetic force, which regulates spool position and valve port opening to achieve proportional flow control. The controller converts upper-level commands into stable driving current.

Type Function Control Methods
Solenoid Valve Only has two states (open/closed), presenting as on and off externally. Activates when powered on; stops when power is cut off.
Proportional Valve Can continuously and proportionally adjust opening, and control fluid pressure and flow. Controls the proportional valve's opening via continuously adjustable current.

Problem 3: What is the electrical connection of this model of proportional solenoid valve?

The valve body features a 6.3×0.8mm blade-type electrical interface and is also supplied with a junction box to meet various wiring and installation requirements.

Problem 4: How to Use Our Proportional Solenoid Valve?

Since conventional industrial equipment only provides a fixed voltage source (e.g., 24V DC) and no adjustable current source, a proportional valve controller is required when using the proportional valve, or you can design a dedicated proportional valve control circuit yourself to supply a stable driving current to the valve.
If you purchased our brand of proportional solenoid valve, you can buy our matching controller as needed. If you need to select a controller for a proportional valve of another brand you already have, our controllers are compatible with some models of certain brands (you can send details such as the valve brand, model, and specific requirements to customer service for consultation).

How to Use the U.S. Solid Brand Controller

The diagram is a basic usage schematic of the controller available for purchase from us.

  • Two black leads connect to the valve (the leads are connected to the junction box, which is then connected to the valve).
  • The red (positive power supply) and blue (negative power supply) leads connect to a fixed power source.
  • The white (positive signal) and yellow (negative signal) leads are used to connect the input signal.
  • For controller selection, it is recommended to consult customer service before purchasing.

Problem 5: What media is the valve suitable for?

It is recommended for neutral gases and liquids. Additionally, the VITON sealing material enables compatibility with slightly corrosive media. If you wish to confirm suitability for your specific media, you can send detailed information to consult our customer service.
