Perfect, works fine!
I have a water tank on the roof of my building. I installed this little guy on the pipe, and fit a gallon plastic jug around it to protect it from the elements. I ran a wire downstairs, installed it with a timer switch, and was done. It works perfectly. I honestly couldn't ask for anything more. Since I only activate it for a minute or so, I imagine it will pretty much last forever. Edit: Worked absolutely perfectly for two days - then quit working. Good valve for short duration activation.
Valve appears well made. Cycles effectively with no leaks in the closed condition. Great for intermittent short duty cycle. My only negative is the coil design with respect to heat. With the cover shell off, the coil is too hot to touch after approximately 30 seconds (test I ran because of 8 hour max continuous operation warning). With the cover on, a few minutes before the cover was too hot to touch. My application requires a 2 hour cycle for washing machine water supply. Valves installed and operating, but not sure how long they will last. I hope that the coil wire insulation is rated for high temperature. If I had to do it over again, I would get the powered ball valve unit. No temperature issues and ball valve seals are very robust. Price and delivery was great for the valve and US Solid has been easy to contact and answered all my questions. I would definitely order from them again.
Impeccably tough solenoid
Purchased to replace old 1/4 in solenoids on the vacuum priming system at a waste water plant. Sometimes trash gets hung up in the small orifice of the 1/4in solenoids, so up-sized to these 1/2in ones. So far they are holding up magnificently. Plus they are more robust. I am very pleased with this purchase and will be ordering another 6 for iv already used the ones i ordered....
