Collection: Pilot-Operated Solenoid Valve

Pilot-operated solenoid valves, sometimes called indirect-acting valves, let the fluid in the line do most of the work. The coil only opens a small pilot hole. Pressure above the diaphragm bleeds off through it, and line pressure then pushes the diaphragm up and opens the main port. Because the coil never has to fight the full force of the line, these valves can handle bigger pipe sizes, higher flow and higher pressure while still running on a small coil. The one thing to check before you buy is pressure: they need a minimum difference between inlet and outlet to open fully, and won't work properly on gravity feed or near-zero pressure.
