Collection: Semi-Direct Solenoid Valves

Semi-direct solenoid valves, also called assisted-lift valves, sit somewhere between direct-acting and pilot-operated designs. The plunger is linked to the diaphragm, so when the coil is energized it physically lifts the diaphragm while line pressure helps push it open the rest of the way. In practice that means two things. They open at 0 psi like a direct-acting valve, and they still give you the larger flow you'd expect from a diaphragm valve once there's pressure in the line. That makes them a safe choice when you aren't sure how much pressure your system will see, or when it changes a lot, like a pump that cycles on and off or a tank that slowly drains down. You'll find both normally closed and normally open versions here, in brass and stainless steel, with 12V DC, 24V and 110/220V AC coils. Since the coil does part of the lifting, it usually draws a bit more power than a pilot valve of the same size, so check the wattage on the product page if you're running off a battery or a small power supply.
