Installation and Pipe Connection

1. Install the EPDM O-rings: Place one clean EPDM O-ring in each union groove. Make sure the O-rings are properly seated and not twisted.
2. Connect the PVC pipe: Use compatible Schedule 40 or Schedule 80 PVC pipe. Apply PVC primer and solvent cement to the outside of the pipe and the inside of the slip socket. Insert the pipe fully and hold it in place. Allow the cement to cure according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
3. Align the valve body: Align the valve body with both union connections. Ensure the O-rings remain properly seated and the valve is not under stress.
4. Tighten the union nuts: Hand-tighten both union nuts evenly. Do not use tools, over-tighten, or apply solvent cement to the union nuts.
5. Operate the valve: Rotate the handle 90° for flow control. The handle parallel to the pipe indicates OPEN; perpendicular to the pipe indicates CLOSED.
Safety note: Shut off the water supply and relieve system pressure before installation or servicing.

FAQ

1.Why choose a True Union Ball Valve?

A True Union Ball Valve makes maintenance easier. The center valve body can be removed from the piping system without cutting or rebuilding the connected pipe.

2.Can this valve be used for drinking water?

NO. This product is not NSF certified and is not intended for certified drinking water systems.

3.Where can this valve be used?

It is suitable for compatible water systems, irrigation, swimming pools, aquariums, ponds, wastewater, and water-treatment applications.

4.Can I clean or repair the valve without removing the pipes?

Yes. After shutting off the system and releasing the pressure, loosen the union nuts to remove the center body for inspection, cleaning, or seal replacement.

5.Does this valve prevent backflow?

No. This is a ball valve, not a check valve. Use a separate check valve if backflow prevention is required.

6.How can I help prevent leaks during installation?

Make sure the pipe and valve socket are clean and properly prepared before bonding. Insert the pipe fully, allow the joint to cure as directed, and avoid over-tightening the union nuts.
