FAQ
1. What are the requirements for placing the instrument?
Place it on a stable, clean, dry, fireproof, and non-slip surface, away from corrosive gases. Keep it away from magnetic fields and vibration-free workbenches.
2. How to select the appropriate rotor and speed?
If the liquid viscosity is unknown, treat it as a high-viscosity sample. Start with a higher-numbered spindle, such as the #4 spindle, at a low speed, such as 6 rpm, and gradually adjust the spindle and speed according to the measured torque and viscosity range. General principle: Use a higher-numbered spindle at a low speed for high-viscosity liquids, and a lower-numbered spindle at a higher speed for low-viscosity liquids. Always refer to the instrument’s Measurement Range Table. For example, on the USS-DVT4, the #4 spindle at 6 rpm can measure viscosities up to 100,000 mPa·s, subject to the actual instrument specifications.
3.How to level the instrument?
Rotate the base leveling screws until the bubble in the level indicator is centered, and recheck after installing the protection frame.
4.How to clean the rotor?
Disassemble the rotor after each use and clean it with a suitable organic solvent.
5.How to ensure measurement accuracy?
Strictly control the liquid temperature and immerse the rotor in the liquid for sufficient time at a consistent temperature. Avoid air bubbles in the liquid, keep the rotor centered, and use the protection frame. The measurement accuracy for Newtonian liquids is ±2%.
