The five wire 4-20mA motorized ball valve is built for modulating control rather than simple on/off operation. Instead of only fully opening or closing, it positions the ball anywhere from 0% to 100% in proportion to a standard 4-20mA signal from a PLC, DDC or PID controller (4mA fully closed, 20mA fully open), so flow can be fine-tuned to match demand. Two wires supply DC 9-24V power, one takes the 4-20mA control input, one is the signal common, and the fifth returns a 4-20mA feedback signal of the actual valve position, so your control system always knows where the valve is. It is a great fit for HVAC, water treatment and process control loops. This 5 wire modulating valve comes in 1/2" to 1" sizes, in brass, stainless steel and PVC.
